Agricultural Research Service (new) - searchable database of photos of crops, animals, plants, insects, fruits, vegetables, and agriculture in general. Free high-quality photos.
Aircraft Images Directory - photos of military and civilian aircraft, mostly from personal web sites around the world.
AltaVista Photo Finder - searches the web (for free photos) and the Corbis image database (for stock photos).
CalPhotos - a browseable, searchable, free collection of over 81,000 images of plants, animals, fossils, people, and landscapes.
Clip Art Searcher - search forms from major Internet Search Engines customized to find graphic images, especially clip art.
FreeFoto.com - over 63,000 photos, free non-commercial use on the Internet. Categorized and searchable.
Helicopter Photos - hundreds of good quality photographs of helicopters; many action photos; includes real life air-evac photos.
Human Genome Research Institute - over two dozen very high-res free photos of various animal species.
Lycos Multimedia Search - search for pictures, video, or audio;
Medicinal Plant Photographs - from the SW School of Botanical Medicine.
NASA Image Gallery - photos from NASA; great high-quality images of space, planets, stars, and the space program.
Plants Photos - from the USDA, a large, searchable database of plant photos. Each image is available in sizes from small to medium to very large. A somewhat cumbersome interface. Keep clicking through to get the largest image.

Featured Stock Photo Company: Fotolia - Very inexpensive royalty-free high-quality high-resolution stock photos; most photos are just a few dollars each. No cost to join. Choose from over 3 million images.
AbleStock - stock photos by monthly subscription; much cheaper than paying per photos, if you need several photos instead of just one or two. (click the photo link to the left).
Comstock - stock photos by monthly subscription, or by individual images, or by sets of images on disks; some photos are royalty-free; others are rights-managed.
Rights Protected Images - exclusive images not available elsewhere; can be licensed for worldwide exclusive use; more expensive than royalty-free stock photos, but worth it if you want to present images not seen anywhere else.
ThinkStock - royalty-free images and stock image CDs; a different set of images than other stock photo companies.
Creatas - online royalty-free stock photos for sale; searchable database; diverse set of images.
Dynamic Graphics - online royalty-free stock photos for sale.
Stock Photos at Foto Search - searches 50 different stock photo catalogs; some photos are royalty-free (pay once), others are rights-managed (more limits on useage).
Getty Images - one of the top stock photography sites on line; individual images, film stock, and virtual CDs (downloadable sets of images).
PhotoDisc - another good, royalty-free stock photography site; good search engine.
Photos.com - If you need more than a few photos, or if you need photos on a regular basis, this is a good deal.
PhotoObjects.Net - these photos have the backgrounds removed so that you can drop them easily into your graphic images. Very useful; by subscription.
PictureQuest - searches 50 different stock photo catalogs; some photos are royalty-free, others are rights-managed; somewhat different set of sources than FotoSearch.
